Our Tour Gran Fondo x Egan Bernal is your chance to ride the same roads that shaped his career and take part in his Gran Fondo in his hometown of Zipaquirá.
Two Ways to Experience the Tour
We designed two versions of this journey so every cyclist can live it their way:
- Standard Tour: Ideal if you want to keep rides smoother and focus on cultural discovery. Shorter daily routes help you adapt to the altitude while staying active for race day. Off the bike, you’ll explore Bogotá’s historic center, visit natural parks, and even try Colombia’s traditional game of tejo.
- Candela Edition: Made for those who can’t get enough of riding. Expect longer, more demanding routes and one extra day on the bike. This version is all about maximizing your time in the saddle, exploring more of the region’s spectacular climbs and landscapes.
Highlights Along the Way
- Ride through the Sabana de Bogotá and the high-altitude roads that forged Colombia’s champions.
- Discover the mystical Laguna de Guatavita, the inspiration for the legend of El Dorado.
- Visit Zipaquirá and the awe-inspiring Salt Cathedral, a Colombian cultural landmark.
- Celebrate the end of the tour with a lively farewell dinner at Andrés Carne de Res.
The Gran Fondo
Both tours culminate with participation in the Gran Fondo Egan Bernal, held on the high roads around Zipaquirá. Riders can choose between two distances:
- Gran Fondo: 150 km (93 mi) with an elevation gain of over 2,600 m (8,530 ft). This route challenges even experienced cyclists, with long climbs, fast descents, and panoramic Andean views.
- Medio Fondo: 90 km (56 mi) with about 1,500 m (4,920 ft) of climbing. A demanding but more accessible option that still offers the thrill of high-altitude riding.
The race atmosphere is unforgettable: thousands of local riders, enthusiastic spectators lining the roads, and the chance to share the start line with Egan himself. Every pedal stroke connects you with Colombia’s deep cycling tradition and the pride of Zipaquirá.
